NBA Finals Golden State Warrior vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA Finals 2017 has finally come. Just as everyone expected, the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers will meet for a third straight time in the NBA Finals.
The Warriors took care of business early, sweeping the San Antonio Spurs in four games, as they waltzed through the Western Conference finals unscathed, becoming the first team to start a postseason 12-0, and the first to enter the Finals undefeated since the 2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers.
Cleveland nearly matched that feat, but their undefeated streak was ended in surprise fashion in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, as the Celtics stunned them with a last-second 3-pointer by Avery Bradley. It turned out to only be a minor hiccup, however, as the Cavs took care of business in the next two games to clinch their spot in the Finals.

Now, the two superteams will have their grudge match. The Warriors took the title in 2015, but LeBron and Co. came back in epic fashion to steal it last season. Hopefully, this time around will be just as exciting as the previous meetings.

Predictions

Even though the oddsmakers have been consistently projecting a Golden State Finals victory since the offseason, this is still a relatively tough series to untangle. The Warriors have the more talented roster from top to bottom, but the Cavs boast arguably the world’s greatest player in LeBron James.

James was finally able to bring the Larry O’Brien Trophy to Cleveland last year, but Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love—two superstars who were injured in the 2015 Finals—played a big role in that victory. Cleveland’s “Big Three” will be on the court and healthy for this Finals, but it remains to be seen if they have any answers for a new-look Golden State squad that now features a “Big Four.”
